Privacy Policy
How Scoutletic collects, uses, discloses, protects and retains personal information.
1. Who We Are
This Privacy Policy explains how Scoutletic ("Scoutletic," "we," "us," or "our") handles personal information when you use our websites, mobile applications and related services (collectively, the "Services"). Scoutletic is owned and operated by Lafoba. For purposes of applicable data-protection law, Lafoba is the entity responsible for the processing described in this Policy unless otherwise stated.
This Policy applies to users of Scoutletic, including athletes, parents and guardians, scouts, coaches, managers, team representatives and visitors. Depending on where you live, additional rights or requirements may apply.
2. Information We Collect
- Account information, such as name, email address, username, password or authentication credentials, account type, date or year of birth, and account status.
- Parent and family information, including information needed to link a parent or legal guardian to a minor athlete and to administer Family Pro memberships.
- Profile information, such as sport, position, gender where provided, country, state/region, city where permitted, biography, physical attributes, statistics, achievements, team affiliations and other profile fields.
- User content, including profile images, photos, text, statistics, achievements and links to third-party content such as YouTube highlight videos. Scoutletic may store the link and related metadata; YouTube or another third party may separately process information when its content is loaded or viewed.
- Communications, including messages between users, reports, safety complaints, support communications and related metadata.
- Subscription and transaction information, such as membership type, subscription status, transaction identifiers, billing status and limited payment-related information. Stripe processes payment-card and other payment credentials. Scoutletic does not store full payment-card numbers unless expressly implemented and legally appropriate.
- Usage, device and technical information, including IP address, browser, device type, operating system, pages or screens viewed, interactions, referral information, approximate location derived from IP address, cookies, app identifiers and similar technical data.
- Analytics information collected through Google Analytics and related measurement technologies, subject to applicable consent choices and configuration.
- Safety, fraud and moderation information, including reports, blocks, enforcement history, verification information where applicable, and information reasonably necessary to investigate suspected abuse or violations.
- Advertising-interaction information, such as which campaign or sponsored placement was shown, the placement or page, impressions, clicks, date and time, and limited session or device information used only where actually implemented for frequency management, measurement, security and fraud prevention.
3. How We Collect Information
We collect information directly from you or a parent/guardian, automatically through the Services, from other users when they interact with or report content, and from service providers that support our operations. We may also receive information from payment processors, authentication providers and other integrations you choose to use.
4. How We Use Information
- Create, authenticate and manage accounts and profiles.
- Provide athlete discovery, search, team, follow, messaging, media, evaluation and other Scoutletic features.
- Administer Free, Pro and Family Pro memberships and process subscription-related transactions.
- Operate analytics, measure use of the Services, diagnose problems and improve functionality.
- Select and display contextual sponsored content, measure campaign performance, manage advertising frequency, maintain security, detect fraudulent or automated activity, and create aggregate advertiser reports.
- Provide customer support and communicate about accounts, security, subscriptions and service changes.
- Detect, prevent, investigate and respond to fraud, spam, harassment, grooming, child exploitation, impersonation, security incidents and other prohibited conduct.
- Enforce our Terms of Service, Community Guidelines & Child Safety Standards and other policies.
- Comply with law, lawful process and regulatory or child-safety reporting obligations.
- Send marketing communications where permitted by law and consistent with your choices.
5. Legal Bases for Processing
Where the GDPR, UK GDPR or similar laws apply, we process personal information on one or more legal bases, including performance of a contract, consent, compliance with legal obligations, protection of vital interests where applicable, and our legitimate interests in operating, securing and improving the Services, preventing abuse and protecting users, provided those interests are not overridden by applicable rights.
Where consent is the legal basis, you may withdraw consent at any time, although withdrawal does not affect processing already lawfully completed.
6. Children, Minors and Parental Consent
Children under 13 may not independently create or manage a Scoutletic account. Where Scoutletic collects personal information from a child under 13 in circumstances covered by the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act ("COPPA"), Scoutletic will seek verifiable parental consent before collecting, using or disclosing the child's personal information, except where an applicable legal exception permits otherwise.
For users in other jurisdictions, Scoutletic will apply parental-consent or authorization requirements required by applicable law. The age at which a minor may consent to certain processing can vary by country.
A parent or legal guardian managing a child's account may request access to, correction of or deletion of the child's personal information and may withdraw consent where applicable. Scoutletic may take reasonable steps to verify the identity and authority of a requesting parent or guardian.
Scoutletic seeks to minimize the collection of children's information and will not condition a child's participation on providing more personal information than is reasonably necessary for the relevant activity. Scoutletic retains children's personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, subject to legal, safety, fraud-prevention and recordkeeping requirements.
Parents and guardians should carefully review a child's profile and should not publish sensitive information such as a home address, precise real-time location, personal phone number, private email address, school schedule, government identifier or other information that could create a safety risk.
Questions or requests concerning a child's privacy may be sent to safety@scoutletic.com or support@scoutletic.com.
7. Public Profiles and Visibility
Certain profile information and User Content may be visible to other Scoutletic members or, depending on the product configuration and privacy settings, to the public and search engines. The Services clearly identify available visibility controls.
Scoutletic may apply more protective defaults to minor accounts. Users and parents/guardians are responsible for reviewing profile visibility settings and should post only information appropriate for the intended audience. Scoutletic may restrict visibility or remove information when reasonably necessary for safety, legal compliance or enforcement.
8. Messages, Safety and Moderation
Messages are not guaranteed to be confidential from Scoutletic. To the extent permitted by law, Scoutletic may use automated systems and authorized personnel to access, review, preserve, analyze or disclose messages and related information when reasonably necessary to operate the Services, investigate reports, enforce policies, prevent fraud or abuse, protect users, respond to emergencies, comply with law or satisfy child-safety obligations.
Scoutletic may preserve information associated with reports, blocked users or enforcement actions for a reasonable period where needed for safety, fraud prevention, legal compliance or dispute resolution.
9. Advertising & Sponsored Content
Scoutletic may display advertisements, sponsorships and promotional content throughout the Services, including on dashboards, search and discovery results, member profile pages, team pages, parent-facing areas and other portions of the Services. Paid advertisements are labeled with a clear "Sponsored" or "Ad" indicator on the advertisement itself.
Scoutletic may use contextual information to determine which advertisements are eligible to appear, such as the page or placement being viewed, the sport associated with the relevant content, and broad account type, such as Athlete, Scout, Coach, Manager or Parent.
Scoutletic's direct advertising system is not intended to create behavioral advertising profiles of children. We do not use a child's private messages, private profile information, or individualized browsing history to create advertising profiles or to select behaviorally targeted advertisements.
We may collect information about the delivery and performance of advertisements, including campaign identifiers, impressions, clicks, placement, date and time, and limited session or device information used for frequency management, security, measurement and fraud prevention where those features are used.
Advertisers may receive aggregate campaign performance information, such as total impressions, clicks and click-through rates. Scoutletic does not provide advertisers with lists identifying individual users or children who viewed or clicked their advertisements as part of our direct advertising reporting. Advertiser payments are currently handled manually through Stripe invoices and verified by a Super Administrator before a paid campaign becomes active.
If Scoutletic later implements third-party advertising networks, behavioral advertising, remarketing or advertiser tracking, this Policy and the consent experience will be updated before those features are enabled. Scoutletic does not knowingly use personal information collected from children under 13 for targeted or behavioral advertising without the consent and other protections required by applicable law. Additional advertiser rules are described in the Scoutletic Advertising Terms.
10. Google Analytics and Similar Technologies
Scoutletic uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors and users interact with the Services. Depending on configuration and consent, Google Analytics may collect information such as session activity, device/browser information, approximate location, identifiers and interaction data through cookies, tags, SDKs or similar technologies.
Scoutletic uses consent controls where required by applicable law. Scoutletic does not intentionally send names, email addresses or other directly identifying information to Google Analytics in violation of Google's policies. Where advertising features, Google Ads integrations, remarketing or ads personalization are enabled, Scoutletic will provide any additional disclosures and consent mechanisms required by applicable law and platform policy.
11. Payments and Stripe
Payments for Scoutletic Pro and Family Pro memberships may be processed by Stripe or another disclosed payment provider. The payment provider processes payment credentials under its own privacy terms. Scoutletic may receive transaction identifiers, payment status, subscription status, billing country, card brand or limited card details such as the last four digits, and other information necessary to administer the membership, prevent fraud, provide support and maintain business records.
If purchases are offered through Apple, Google or another app marketplace, that marketplace may process the payment and provide Scoutletic with subscription or transaction information according to its own terms.
12. YouTube and Third-Party Media
Users may add links to YouTube videos or other permitted third-party media to their profiles. Scoutletic does not own or control YouTube. When a user follows a link, loads an embedded player or otherwise interacts with third-party content, that provider may collect information under its own privacy policy and terms. Users must have the right to share the content they post or link and must comply with applicable third-party terms.
13. How We Disclose Information
- To other users and the public according to profile visibility and product functionality.
- To parents or guardians in connection with accounts they manage or supervise, as permitted by law and product design.
- To service providers and processors that provide hosting, analytics, email, security, moderation, support, authentication, payment and related services.
- To professional advisers, auditors, insurers or financing parties where reasonably necessary and subject to appropriate duties.
- To law enforcement, courts, regulators, child-safety organizations or other parties where required or permitted by law, or where reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety or security.
- To advertisers in the form of aggregate campaign reporting, such as impressions, clicks, click-through rates and placement performance. This reporting is not intended to identify individual members or disclose private information about children.
- In connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy or sale of all or part of the business, subject to applicable law.
- With your direction or consent.
14. No Sale; Advertising Disclosures
Scoutletic does not sell personal information for money. Certain privacy laws define "sale," "sharing" or targeted advertising more broadly than ordinary usage. If Scoutletic engages in activity that qualifies as a sale, sharing or targeted advertising under applicable law, Scoutletic will provide required notices and opt-out mechanisms. The current administrator-posted advertising feature is not behavioral advertising unless tracking or targeting functionality is actually implemented.
15. International Data Transfers
Scoutletic may process information in the United States and other countries. Where applicable law requires safeguards for international transfers, Scoutletic will use an appropriate lawful transfer mechanism, such as an adequacy decision, approved contractual clauses or another legally recognized safeguard.
16. Data Retention
Scoutletic retains personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including providing the Services, maintaining subscriptions, protecting users, preventing fraud, resolving disputes, enforcing agreements and complying with law.
Account deletion generally results in deletion or de-identification of account-associated personal information and User Content, subject to reasonable processing time and lawful exceptions. Certain records may be retained where required for legal, tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, security, child-safety, dispute or enforcement purposes. Backup copies may persist for a limited period until overwritten or deleted through normal backup cycles.
Children's personal information will not be retained longer than reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, subject to applicable legal requirements.
17. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, objection, withdrawal of consent, or information about disclosures. You may also have rights to opt out of certain sales, sharing, targeted advertising or profiling and to appeal certain privacy decisions.
California residents may have rights under the CCPA/CPRA and other California laws, subject to applicable thresholds, definitions and exceptions. Scoutletic will not discriminate against users for exercising applicable privacy rights.
Requests may be submitted to support@scoutletic.com. Child-safety or child-privacy matters may also be sent to safety@scoutletic.com. Scoutletic may verify your identity and authority before completing a request.
18. Account Deletion
Users can initiate deletion of their account through account settings or another clearly accessible deletion flow. Parents/guardians can request deletion of a child account they are authorized to manage. Deactivation alone is not the same as deletion.
Deleting a Scoutletic account does not necessarily cancel a subscription billed by Apple, Google or another third party. The deletion flow clearly explains any separate cancellation steps that apply.
19. Security
Scoutletic uses administrative, technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. No security system is perfect, and Scoutletic cannot guarantee that unauthorized access, loss, misuse or alteration will never occur.
Users are responsible for protecting their credentials and devices. Scoutletic may notify affected individuals and authorities of a security incident where required by applicable law.
20. Cookies
Scoutletic uses cookies and similar technologies for essential functionality, security, preferences, analytics and, where implemented and permitted, advertising. More information is available in our Cookie Policy. Where required, non-essential cookies or similar technologies will not be activated until the required consent is obtained.
21. Third-Party Services and Links
The Services may contain links to or integrations with third-party services, including YouTube, Stripe and other providers. Scoutletic does not control third-party privacy practices. Third-party services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
22. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date and provide additional notice where required by law. Material changes affecting previously collected children's information or consent will be handled in accordance with applicable law.

24. Scope of Scoutletic Domains and Applications
This Privacy Policy applies to Scoutletic's public marketing website at scoutletic.com, the authenticated Scoutletic platform at app.scoutletic.com, Scoutletic mobile applications, and related Scoutletic services and features (collectively, the "Services").
Scoutletic maintains one canonical public Privacy Policy at scoutletic.com/privacy. The authenticated platform at app.scoutletic.com and Scoutletic mobile applications link to that public policy rather than maintain inconsistent duplicate versions.
The marketing website and authenticated application may collect different information. For example, scoutletic.com may use analytics, cookies, contact or marketing functionality, while app.scoutletic.com may additionally process account, profile, parent/child, messaging, subscription, payment, moderation, advertising and user-generated-content information. This Policy is intended to cover both environments.
